Jody Boogren-Reid

Jody Boogren-Reid - Kensington Galleries of Fine ArtJody Boogren-Reid developed her love for painting while a young child growing up in Southeastern Wisconsin. It was her mother who first inspired her to paint in oils while she watched her paint “still-lives” in their family’s kitchen. It wasn’t until she attended The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) that she received a formal education in the Arts. After graduating, with painting as her primary focus, in 1993, she has bee working out of her studio creating oil paintings daily. Her work has been in various galleries in the Milwaukee area and most recently being shown at “The Frank Allen Gallery” in Glendale, Wisconsin. Recently she re-located from Cedarburg Wi. to the town of Plymouth Wi. Jody lives with her husband, their four children and the family dog. She gives painting instruction privately out of her studio, where she also works from commissions. Her paintings are in numerous private as well as various public collections throughout the country.

Jody describes her work in the following way:

“I have been painting for as long as I can remember, and for a while I painted in a more abstract and surreal style. I found it a struggle to come up with clever ways of communicating in this manner, which led me on an effort to overcome this ‘modern painting dilemma’. I decided to put my efforts towards refining my sensibilities as a painter and really focus on further training my eyes and hand to achieve this end. I have been having the time of my life working in my studio on these paintings, and for the past 7 years I have been learning and discovering more than I ever imagined. I feel much more natural expressing myself in the manner of these recent works without intruding too subjectively upon the viewer. I am using the ordinary and everyday to create something extraordinary and beautiful!”

Currently Jody has been focusing primarily on her still life paintings while looking forward to unveiling her portraits and drawings in the near future.
